Why Did You Stay? (Poetry)

Many years had passed

Laughter’s faded fast

And the memory of you;

I tried to erase, but can’t.

The closeness we built when we were young

Was totally forgotten in just a snap

Our shoulder’s brushed as we walk by a crowded place

And still there was a spark only I felt.

I’m smiling foolishly

Day dreaming of you and me

But I woke up suddenly

And reminded myself it was only from the past.

My feelings went deeper

As your memory of me went thinner

And now you see me as a stranger

Silently begging you to remember.

The laughter’s we both felt, which in your memory melt

And may be the reasons why you stayed

Because I’m the only one who still reminisced.
